Very aptly stated Amitabha….I particularly enjoyed the reference of the confluence of all literature in a single whirlpool of literary experience.I would only like to add one very crucial aspect of Sunil Da’s amazing ability, and that is his dynamic modernism…with this I mean his remarkable ability and skill of re inventing his work with changing times…the body of work he produced reflected this adaptability which has been the hallmark of much that is Bengali….a people despite their several idiosyncracies have have unwittingly remained modern and liberal.Sunil Da’s works brought this to the fore….a legacy perhaps of modernist thinkers of Bengal and the world.
We shall sorely miss him and his writing.
