Have just received copy of map annotated by my father -in-law (at the time an American civilian working for Firestone Tires) who reports leaving Mandalay on April 28th 1942 to journey by car, freight car, riverboat and on foot over the course of nine days to reach Tamu. This date seems very late.
I have just [two hours ago!] begun searching the internet for further information and would like to know more about about the 1942 Burma Exodus and the best sources to use. This map is a great start!
